Sean Kanan is an internationally renowned actor best known for is iconic role as Deacon Sharpe in the daytime drama The Bold and the Beautiful. Sean has been a hard-working actor ever since receiving his degree from UCLA. Shortly after graduation, he landed one of the major roles in the megahit Karate Kid III, starring as Ralph Macchio’s nemesis. He followed quickly followed with roles on the TV series produced by Francis Ford Coppola’s The Outsiders, and Oliver Stone’s Wild Palms. He subsequently moved to network television with roles on General HospitalSunset BeachThe Bold and the Beautiful, and The Young and the Restless.

Recently, with soap opera fans clamoring for his return, Sean revived his role as Deacon Sharpe on The Young and The Restless, the show from which The Bold and The Beautiful was spun off. Sean also recently completed filming South 32 directed by Jake Barsha, Limelight directed by James Cullen Bressack, Youthful Daze, and  Prodigal, the directorial debut Julie Pacino, the daughter of Al Pacino, in which he was cast as in the leading role.

Other TV credits include guest roles on FreddyWho’s the Boss?VIPThe NannyWalker: Texas RangerLois and Clark, and True Jackson VP. Film credits include Hack, where he starred and served as Executive Producer, as well as the comedy, Chump Change, the action films Chaos Factor and Extreme Limits, and the independent film 10 Attitudes.

In addition to acting, Kanan frequents the comedy club circuit and makes numerous appearances at the world famous Hollywood “Improv,” “The Laugh Factory” and the “HaHa,” where he offers his perspective on his ten years in daytime television, his time living in Italy when he was a featured contestant on the Italian Dancing with the Stars, and getting beaten up in Karate Kid III which doesn't compare to life with his wife and five children. He also toured with the USO, entertaining in places such as Bosnia and Kosovo.

Off the set, Kanan spends his free time studying martial arts, writing, cooking and pursuing his studies in Italian language.
